Being able to categorize as grown up is a subjective matter as grown ups also tend to be childish and screw up sometimes. So how to be grown ups? Here are a few thoughts.
Observe, learn, practice and incorporate the style of other people. The confident you exude, the commitment you exhibit bring you that much respect from other people. You are efficient, experienced, intelligent, hard working and honest, yet people do not recognize you because of your appearance and attitude.
Study people around you. Identify where their distinguish themselves. How do they dress? What do they wear? Adopt their style and level of smartness. Remember the most noticeable thing about you is your dress. An un-ironed shirt, un-polished shoes, gaudy colors, all sent wrong signals about your self. Your faulty dress sense could well be a hitch in your career path. Realize that dressing smart enhances your confidence and energy level by leap. Be a high- flier to get notice.
Stop think like an average people and start analyzing like genius. View every rule and decision from your observation and experience. Express your thoughts to show concern in the subject. While you lend your thoughts and ideas in discussion convey your interest in the matter. You will be instantly recognized.
Keep yourself posted on the larger context and current issues. Issues such as globalization, government policy and others should be at your finger tips. Always speak in a mature and responsible way on relevant issues. Keep a safe distance from gossip. You may have fun with your friend but do not indulge in frivolous chatter and profanities. Build an aura of sophistication around you. In short, never lose focus on making people aware about you skills, talents and experience. Help and guide friends in need. They will flock to you for advice. Plus is very important to know your competency team working by you can get work done through others.
Get your act right. Develop a good rapport with your friends. Observe them from close quarters. See how they handle different situation, people and issues. Master their smart move. Observe them carefully and decide where they go wrong. Learn from their mistakes too, so that you do not repeat them when you step into their shoes in the future.
So gear up, pick the right mannerism, the right way of speaking and dress code. Impress everyone around you with your maturity, confidence and verve. Do not shy away from projecting yourself.
